For this piece, we decided on a blastover instead of a traditional cover-up. Her first tattoo meant too much to erase completely, so we left parts of the flowers visible and built this portrait around them.

I’m a tattoo artist based in Luxembourg and the owner of Misanthrop Ink. I’ve been tattooing for a few years now, and creating my own studio has honestly been one of the biggest steps for me.

Five years ago, when I had just started tattooing, I appeared for the first time in an online article of the Lëtzebuerger Journal. I was still at the very beginning, full of dreams, doubts, excitement – and absolutely no idea where this path would take me.
Today… I opened the Luxemburger Wort and saw a double-page feature about my work, my studio, my art.

Today I want to share something truly close to my heart.
This beautiful woman once poured boiling water over her stomach and legs many years ago — the scars from that, along with a cesarean scar, stayed with her for decades. She’s now over 60, and until recently, she had never worn shorts or a bikini in her entire life.
We’ve been working together to transform those scars into art — and now, for the first time, she told me she finally feels confident enough to wear shorts again. 🖤
We’re almost at the end of this journey — just a few details left to complete — but seeing her smile and hearing that she feels free again means everything to me.
